THEME: HEALTHY HABITS

*This is a SHARING WEEK. The children are asked to bring in something that keeps them healthy on their scheduled sharing day.
Other healthy activities include- creating a healthy foods collage, doing Yoga stretches and dancing the Bean Bag Boogie!

The letter of the week activity is E is for elephant.

The Halloween parade will be held on Tuesday, 10/31, at 9:45.

All children are invited to wear costumes to parade around the parking lot together with their classmates and teachers.

The parade will end on the church steps, where we’ll gather to sing some favorite Halloween songs.

Tuesday children will head back to class for a regular preschool day following the parade.

In case of rain, the parade will not be held.

WEEK OF: MAY 15th – 19th
THEME: BEES AND BUTTERFLIES

This week the classroom will be buzzing with learning experiences! We will explore a variety of bugs and learn their characteristics and ways these creatures are important in nature. Activities planned include creating thumbprint insects, assembling a large bug floor puzzle, finger painting large butterflies, and observing the new Painted Lady Caterpillars in the science area.

WEEK OF: MAY 22ND – 26TH
THEME: OCEAN COMMOTION

This is the last sharing week for the year. The children may bring in a sharing item of their choice!

This week we will explore what lives in the ocean and what can be found by the seashore.

We plan to:

• use beach items in the dramatic play area
• explore shells at the science table
• create sea creatures from a variety of materials and wear red, white and blue on Friday (26th) for some patriotic fun!
• We have five painted lady caterpillars in the science center. Ask your child to keep you updated on their metamorphosis.

REMINDERS, REQUESTS AND OTHER INFO:

• Curious Creatures will be visiting PPP on Wednesday May 31st for 2 presentations.
• All PPP students are invited to attend one presentation. There is a sign-up sheet for NON- WEDNESDAY students who would like to attend.
• The August birthdays will be celebrated in school in May. Please let us know if you plan to bring in a snack item.
• The Yellow Apples are practicing songs for their graduation ceremony which will be held on Tuesday 6/13 @ 11:00.
• Registration forms for the summer program have been sent home. This program is open to all PPP students.
• Return your summer forms soon to reserve a spot! As of May 26th, summer registration will be open to new families.

APRIL 3 – 7, 2023
THEME: AMAZING SCIENCE
This week our classroom will be busy with scientific activity! At circle time a variety of simple experiments will be conducted and during free choice time we will have a follow-up activity to enhance the learning experience. We plan to experiment with water, bubbles, magnets and of course, volcanos!
The letter of the week is V is for volcano.

APRIL 10 – 14, 2023
WE LOVE PETS
You may hear us singing, How Much is That Doggie in the Window? as we learn about some of our favorite pets this week. The dramatic play center will be set up as a Veterinarian’s office as a fun way to learn about pets and their care.

The letter of the week is W is for worm.

• Lunch Bunch will not be held on Friday, April 14th.
  All students will be dismissed at noon.
• April 17 – 21 is school vacation week. Enjoy the week!
• PPP will be holding a summer program July 10th – 13th and July 17th – 20th.
  Each session meets Monday – Thursday from 9:00-1:00. The cost is $180 per session. More information will come home after April vacation week.
