It’s hard to believe this is the last update for the school year! It is wonderful to see how much the children have grown and learned and truly enjoyed their time in preschool. They are a wonderful group of children who continually amaze us! We want to thank all the families for your help and support throughout this school year. It has been another great year at Perry Park!

Our last days of school will be enjoyed with theme days. This gives us the opportunity to close out the school year in a special way and have fun with activities that we think your children will enjoy.

The last day for Lunch Bunch is Friday, May 31st. The final lunch bill is due by June 4th. Thank you!

MONDAY (27) –Memorial Day – no preschool

TUESDAY (28) – BLUEY DAY –
wear your favorite Bluey / blue clothes
and prepare for a Bluey adventure, g’day!
Snack: Veggie Stix – Oliver

WEDNESDAY (29) – PAW PATROL IS ON A ROLL!
Wear your favorite animal or Paw Patrol shirt for Paw Patrol fun!
SNACK: Paw Patrol snacks – Jenna

THURSDAY (30) CURIOUS CREATURES DAY
All are looking forward to this popular end-of-the-year event!
*There is a sign-up sheet for non-Thursday students to attend.

FRIDAY (31) – BUBBLE DAY
We’ll blow bubbles on the playground and read a favorite book, Bubble, Bubble by Mercer Mayer. Do we have magic bubbles, too?
SNACK: Goldfish – PPP will do

MONDAY (3) – PUPPET DAY
We’ll make a puppet and put on a puppet show!
SNACK: lemonade and pretzels – Julian

TUESDAY (4) LEGO DAY
Legos, Legos all around! We’ll build and paint with them, too!
SNACK: watermelon – Vera

WEDNESDAY (5) – TROPICAL DAY
Wear your most colorful, tropical clothes and try coconut bowling and
do the limbo!

THURSDAY (6) – TEDDY BEAR PICNIC
Wear your pajamas and bring a favorite stuffy to school!
Snacks: Teddy Grahams – Caroline & Grace
(This is the last day of class for the Tuesday/Thursday group)

FRIDAY (7) – DINOSAUR DAY
Dinosaur roar! Come for prehistoric fun!
Snack: mini muffins – Jenna

MONDAY (10) – GAMES DAY
Ring toss, bowling, Hullabaloo… be ready to play!
SNACK: watermelon

TUESDAY (11) 10:00 Yellow Apples Graduation
A graduation notice will be sent home to all the
graduating Yellow Apple families.

May Update

May 20 – 24, 2024
*This is the last SHARING WEEK for the school year!

Children may bring in an item of their choice on their scheduled sharing day.

Thursday, May 23rd and Friday, May 24th wear red, white and blue for some Patriotic fun!

Looking ahead……

Curious Creatures will be visiting PPP on Thursday, May 30th.
Children who do not attend school on Thursdays are invited to come from 9:30 – 10:10 for the program. There is a sign-up sheet for the non-Thursday children who plan to attend.

Friday, May 31st is the last day of Lunch Bunch. The final bills will be sent home and payment is due by June 4th. Thank you!

**The summer program is full for the week of July 15th. There are a few spots open for the week of July 22nd. The summer program payment is now due for those who have signed up.

Week OF: April 22 – 26, 2024 and April 29 – May 3, 2024

THEME: POND LIFE

We’ll read, In the Small, Small Pond, by Denise Fleming this week and learn what can be found in a pond. The learning experiences will include painting dragonflies and ducks, learning about the life cycle of a frog, and completing the alphabet with the activities Y is for Yoga and Z is for Zebra.

THEME: OCCUPATIONS

WEEK OF: APRIL 29 – MAY 3, 2024

This is SHARING WEEK! The children are asked to bring in an item related to
any occupation on their scheduled sharing day. Each child will also complete a “When I Grow Up” writing activity this week.

*The Art Show will be held on Saturday, May 4th!

Families and friends are welcome to come any time from 10:30 -12:00 to view our artistic creations. An Open House for new families will be held from 10-10:30.

*Calling all bakers! We will hold a bake sale during the art show. The proceeds will go towards the Curious Creature visit in May. A sign-up sheet will be posted at arrival time for those interested in baking something for the sale. Small items should come in baggies and will be sold for $1.00 per bag.

*Lunch Bunch will not be held on Friday, May 3rd, due to Art Show set-up.

*Mark Your Calendars! The class photo will be taken on Tuesday morning (May 7th) at 9:30. Weather permitting, we will gather on the church steps for the picture, otherwise it will be taken indoors in Fellowship Hall.

UPDATES: MARCH 25 – 29, 2024 and April 1 – 5 and April 8 – 12, 2024

Yay-it’s Spring! The learning experiences for the week will center on this rejuvenating season!

APRIL 1 – 5 and APRIL 8 – 12, 2024

THEME: THE BIG RED BARN

Activities in the classroom will focus on farm animals, machinery, and farm products. The learning centers in the classroom will include:
-exploring the farm animals and barns in the block area,
-playing an animal sounds Lotto game,
-reading books about farms and completing farm puzzles.
Music time experiences will include singing Old MacDonald’s Farm, I love My Rooster, I Know a Chicken, Baa-Baa Black Sheep and BINGO.

REMINDERS, REQUESTS AND OTHER INFO:

*April 15th – 19th is April school vacation week, enjoy the week!
*The April snack calendar has been sent home. Soon the May/June snack calendar
will be available to sign. This is the last snack sign up for the year! Please let
me know if you have not been able to access the snack calendar and I will sign you
up for a snack day.
*All May, June, July, and August birthdays will be celebrated at snack time in May.
Please check the snack calendar for the date of your child’s celebration if you would
like to contribute to the birthday snack.
*Summer program information will come home after April vacation week. A signup sheet will be posted on the fence at arrival time for those who would like to attend.
*The summer sessions will be held Monday thru Thursday from 9:00 – 1:00;
July 15 – 18 and July 22 – 25. The cost is $180 per child, per week, with a maximum
group size of sixteen.
