THEME: COLOR DAYS

This week we will have fun with colors! We plan to graph our favorite colors, experiment with color mixing, and create colorful paintings and a handprint mural for the classroom.

Each day will focus on a different color and the children may wear the color of the day to enhance this learning experience.

Monday – red day
Tuesday – orange day
Wednesday – yellow day
Thursday – green day
Friday – blue & purple day

The letter of the week activity is B is for butterfly.

This week is a sharing week. The children are asked to bring in an item of their favorite color on their sharing day. The sharing information sheet with the schedule has been sent home in your child’s backpack.

REMINDERS, REQUESTS, AND OTHER INFO:

The Open House / Ice Cream Social is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4th from 6-7pm. Families are invited to visit the classroom and members of the Groveland Congregational Church will host an ice cream social in Fellowship Hall for all PPP families from 6-7pm that evening.

The Open House schedule is as follows:
The Red Apples and their families may visit the classroom from 6:00-6:30 and follow with ice cream upstairs.The Yellow Apples and their families are invited to enjoy ice cream from 6-6:30 and visit the classroom from 6:30-7:00. Please see a teacher if you have any questions.

There will be a sign up sheet for those who may like to donate paper goods and ice cream toppings for the ice cream social.

Be sure your child’s backpack and all outerwear is clearly labeled. The children hang their jackets, etc. on hooks and are sometimes unsure which is theirs at the end of the day.

Book orders are placed online and the books are shipped to the school or you may choose to have them sent directly to you. Our classroom code is:H8LPK.

WEEK OF: SEPTEMBER 12 – 16, 2022
THEME: WELCOME FRIENDS!

Welcome to Perry Park Preschool and the first Weekly Update of the school year.
Each week you will receive an email containing the weekly update which lists activities and
events for the upcoming week(s).

The first weeks of school will focus on introducing the children to the rules and
routines of the classroom and the playground. The children will be learning new songs to
sing for greeting hello, clean-up time and good-bye. They will have the opportunity to
explore many interest centers in the classroom including blocks, dramatic play, play dough,
puzzles, and the science area.

Art exploration will include painting at the easel, using scissors and glue sticks,
painting with water colors and decorating a place card for snack time.

WEEK OF: SEPTEMBER 19 – 23, 2022
THE MORE WE GET TOGETHER

This week at Perry Park the children will continue to explore new centers in the classroom.
Circle time activities will include singing songs and playing games to help learn the names of
our teachers and new friends. Other friendship activities will include creating a friendship
heart for the classroom, finger painting with friends and painting Bag Buddies (which the
children will take home at the Open House).

Also, this week we will begin our letter of the week activities with A is for Apple.
There are many reminders and requests……any questions please call or see a teacher anytime!

REMINDERS, REQUESTS AND OTHER INFO:

• We’re excited to have a new assistant teacher, Ms. Ashley, join our team!
  She will be in the classroom on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
• Wear nametags for the first week of school.
• Clearly label backpacks and be sure to keep a complete change of clothes inside.
•  Lunch Bunch begins on Wednesday 9/21. There is space available to sign up.
• Please see the notice in your orientation packet for more information.
• The book order is due by Friday 9/23. This can be placed online using the classroom
  Code: H8LPK
• PPP will provide snacks for the first few weeks. Daily snacks are listed on the snack
  calendar found in the orientation packet. Each child will use their own water bottle for
  snack time. Please clearly label and provide water only.
• The October snack calendar will be available to sign-up next week.

It’s hard to believe this is the last update for the school year! It is wonderful to see how much the children have grown and learned and truly enjoyed their time in preschool. They are a wonderful group of children who continually amaze us! We want to thank all of the families for your help and support throughout this school year. It has been another great year at Perry Park!
