It’s hard to believe this is the last update for the school year! It is wonderful to see how much the children have grown and learned and truly enjoyed their time in preschool. They are a wonderful group of children who continually amaze us! We want to thank all the families for your help and support throughout this school year. It has been another great year at Perry Park! Our last days of school will be enjoyed with theme days. This gives us the opportunity to close out the school year in a special way and have fun with activities that we think your children will enjoy.

The last day for Lunch Bunch is Friday, May 30 th . The final lunch payment is due by June 3 rd . Thank you!
MONDAY (2) – BUBBLE DAY

We’ll blow bubbles on the playground and read a favorite book,

Curious Creatures will be visiting PPP on Thursday, May 29th.

Children who do not attend school on Thursdays are invited to come from 9:30-10:10 for the program. There is a sign-up sheet for the non-Thursday childrenwho plan to attend.

Friday, May 30th is the last day of Lunch Bunch. The final bills will be sent home and payment is now due. Thank you!

*We have 10 Painted Lady caterpillars in the science area. Ask your child to tell you about their metamorphosis. We plan to release the butterflies in the playground the first week of June.

*The Yellow Apples are practicing songs for their graduation ceremony which will be held on Tuesday 6/10 @ 10:00. More info to come for the graduates.

*Registration forms for the summer program have been sent home. This program is open to all PPP students. It is not too late to sign up; there are a couple of spots remaining!

WEATHER and SPRINGTIME

MARCH 31st – APRIL 4th and APRIL 7th – 11th

Spring is here! The theme for these two weeks is spring – from the weather we experience to the activities we enjoy!

We’ll create windsocks and kites and muddy scenes with fingerpaint. The science area will have birdhouses, a tornado in a bottle to explore and we will conduct a wind experiment with straws and fans.

We’ll look for signs of spring in the classroom and outdoors as we explore this rejuvenating season!

The letter of the week activity is W is for weather.

REMINDERS, REQUESTS AND OTHER INFORMATION:

* Lunch Bunch will not be held on Friday, April 11 th as we will be setting up for the Art Show.

*The Art Show is Saturday, April 12th from 10:30-12:00. There will be a bake sale and book raffles as well. Hope to see you there!

*An open house for new families is scheduled from 10-10:30 in the morning of the art show. Tell all your friends looking for preschool to please stop by!

* Plan to have all the baked goods for the art show here on Friday (11 th ) or Saturday morning by 10 AM.

*It would be helpful to have all items individually wrapped and ready to sell for .50 or $1.00

The raffle tickets for the book baskets are 1 for $5, and 5 tickets for $20.

~All proceeds will go to the Curious Creatures visit in May~

*A Tasty Tuesday is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 th from 12:00-1:00. The cost is $16. A signup sheet is posted at arrival time.

*There is no school on Good Friday -4/18.

* April school vacation week is the 21 st – 25 th , enjoy the week!

*A sign-up sheet is available at arrival time for our 2-week summer program to be held in July. Sign-ups are first come/first served; don’t miss out on this fun, summer experience!

THEMES: RECYCLING and READ, READ, READ!

2/24/2025 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, it’s easy to do!

You may hear us singing this song during recycling week as we learn about the importance of recycling. We’ll have fun painting and creating with recyclable materials and visiting the recycling center set up in dramatic play!

*A breakfast for parents will be held on Thursday 2/27 at 9:00.  After dropping off your child, come in and enjoy breakfast with other PPP parents!  (hosted by GCC).

3/3/2025  SHARING WEEK

The children may bring in a favorite book on their scheduled sharing day. When sharing their book with the group at circle time, each child will be encouraged to talk about the book they chose and show their favorite page.

This will be a colorful week of reading! Each day the books and classroom centers will focus on some of the children’s favorites, and we’ll wear the following –

Monday – Dr. Seuss – wear silly socks

Tuesday – Pete the Cat books by Eric Litwin – wear blue

Wednesday – Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang- wear animal prints or orange and brown
