THEME: RECYCLING

We will learn about the importance of recycling and also have fun painting and creating with recyclable items. This week the children will make a Valentine bag to receive Valentine cards from their classmates.

Valentine cards may be sent in any time now. The children will deliver the cards to their classmates’ bags from February 12th – 14th. They will bring the bags home on Valentine’s Day and on Thursday 15th.

February 12th – 16th
THEME: POST OFFICE AND VALENTINES

If you would like to participate and have your child bring in cards, please send in enough cards for your child’s entire group.
There are 16 Red Apples and 18 Yellow Apples.
For ease of delivery, leave the outside envelope blank; this way the children will easily be able to deliver them to each Valentine bag.

We ask that no food items be sent in with the Valentine cards.

February 19th – 23rd is school vacation week.

February 26th -March 1st
THEME: AUTHORSThis is SHARING WEEK. The children are asked to bring in a favorite book on their scheduled sharing day.

• The March snack calendar is now available to sign.
• Please note: Lunch Bunch will not be held on Friday, March 15th.
• The Yellow Apple group has started home visits with the class book buddy, Knufflebunny. All Yellow Apples will have a turn to bring Knufflebunny home for 2 nights. We are so excited and can hardly wait for our turn!

Theme: Winter and Arctic Animals

Welcome back and best wishes for a happy, healthy 2024!

We have many fun learning experiences planned for our exploration of winter.

Circle time activities will include reading books about snow, winter, and arctic animals. We will conduct an experiment to create salt crystal snowflakes, explore the arctic animals and rice in the sensory table, cut out hats and mittens to decorate and make pinecone bird feeders. Music time will find us moving like snowflakes, dancing the freeze dance, and singing winter songs.

The letter of the week activities are M is for mitten, N is for name and O is for octagon.

REMINDERS, REQUESTS AND OTHER INFO:

-The February snack calendar is available to sign.

-A signup sheet for parent/teacher conferences will be posted at arrival time.

-Registration forms for the 2024-2025 school year have been sent home.
Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

-Tell your friends! An Open House for new families will be held on Saturday, January 20th from 9:30-10:30. New families may begin registering at that time.

– Snow pants can be worn on the playground for snowy fun, and we’ll send them home at the end of the day. Please label all outerwear.
-When wearing snow boots, please send slippers or shoes in the backpack to change
into once we’re inside.

-There is no class on Monday, 1/15, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

– Lunch Bunch will not be held on Friday, January 19th.
