January Update

JANUARY 3 – 6, 10 – 14 and 17 – 21, 2022

Welcome back and best wishes for a happy and healthy 2022!

We have many fun learning experiences planned for our exploration of winter.

Circle time activities will include reading books about winter, snow, and arctic animals. We’ll go ice fishing with magnetic letters, make bird feeders and try an experiment with water and ice! There will be a flurry of winter art experiences as we create puffy paint snow scenes, collage mittens and hats and cut out snowflakes. The sensory table will have snow (we hope!) and ice cubes to observe melting and music time will find us moving like snowflakes, dancing the “freeze dance” and singing winter songs. The words to two are on the reverse.
The letter activities are I is for igloo and J is for jellyfish.

REMINDERS, REQUESTS AND OTHER INFO:
*When wearing snow boots, please send shoes or slippers in the backpack to change into once we’re inside. Wet snow boots make very slippery, wet floors!

*Check the spare clothes in your child’s backpack to be sure warm long pants, and socks are included.

*Snow pants may be worn onto the playground for snowy fun, and we’ll send them home at the end of the day. Please label all outerwear!

*Registration forms for the 2022-2023 school year have been sent home.
Openings will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

*Enrollment will open up to new families after Friday, January 21st.

An Open House for new families will be held on January 22nd from 10:00-11:00. If you know of anyone who is interested in attending PPP in the fall they may call the school @ 978 374- 6678 or email perryparkpreschool@gmail.com for information. Thank you!

*Progress reports are coming home this week. They do not need to be signed or returned. There is a signup sheet for those who would like to sign up for a phone conference with your child’s teacher.

SNOW IS FALLING
(tune of Frere Jacques)
Snow is falling, snow is falling
to the ground, to the ground.
Soft and quiet snowflakes, soft and quiet snowflakes.
Not a sound, not a sound.

A Snowman finger play:
A chubby little snowman had a carrot nose.
Along came a bunny and what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny, looking for his lunch,
Ate that snowman’s carrot nose; nibble, nibble, crunch!
